We left Nova Scotia for New Brunswick end exploration of the Bay of Fundy. Our cottage was near Saint John, NB and a short drive to the Saint Martens Sea Caves. There we got to see the power of the Bay of Fundy tides which rise and fall some 50 feet, twice a day. In Saint John we visited the Loyalist Museum and saw what life was like for those that did well fleeing the United States after the Revolutionary War. We also went to the town cemetery where many of the early pioneers were buried. the Bay of Fundy National Park was lovely, although our search for a moose for Mary Lou did not come to any success. From here we drove back down the US, stopping at a chocolate factory before crossing into Maine. We had a quick visit to Roosevelt's Campanella compound, but like many things on our trip, it had closed for the season by the time we got there. A quick stop in Bangor and Steven Kings' home and then dropping Mary Lou off for her long, horrid trip back to California. Kathy and I continued on to Messina, NY for more Loyalist cemetery research (in the cold and rain) and a visit to the Robert Moses State Park (closed for the season). We than continued our trek home with a great stop in Rochester, NY (I'd go there again) and the beautiful Genesee River. A stop in Cleveland for good food and a pilgrimage to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and on our way home. A great trip.
